Stump Grinding
Our main work. We grind the stump and the flare four to eight inches below grade with a purpose-built grinder, so the surface sits low enough to cover with soil and seed.
We grind stumps several inches below grade, rake up the chips, and hand back ground you can mow, plant, or build on. Family run out of Chilliwack, working across the Fraser Valley.
Sawing a stump level with the ground looks tidy for a week, then you are left with a hard, rotting hump that resprouts, trips people, and wrecks mower blades. We grind well below grade so the spot can be topped with soil and disappears into your lawn or beds.
Tell us what you are looking at and we will sort it in a single visit wherever we can.
Our main work. We grind the stump and the flare four to eight inches below grade with a purpose-built grinder, so the surface sits low enough to cover with soil and seed.
Have a small tree that needs to come down before the stump goes? We take down smaller trees and grind what is left in the same trip, so you only book once.
We rake and haul the grindings away, or leave the mulch on site for your beds and paths. Either way the area is left tidy and ready for whatever comes next.
You deal with the people doing the work, not a call centre. We live and work in the Fraser Valley.
Compact equipment fits through gates and reaches tight spots, with care taken around lawns, fences, and beds.
Grindings make good mulch. We keep things on site where it helps and haul the rest responsibly.
We rake down and tidy before we leave, so the only sign we were there is a missing stump.
Send the details and you get a clear price. No call-out games, no surprises on the day.
Grinding is faster and lighter on your property than digging a stump out, and easier on the wallet.
Use the quote form with stump quantity, diameter, and tree type. A couple of photos help.

site left cleanBased in Chilliwack and working throughout the valley and surrounding communities. If your town is nearby and not on the list, ask anyway. We travel for the right job.
Check my areaOur standard grind takes the stump four to eight inches below the surface, which is enough to top with soil and grow grass over. If you plan to replant a tree or lay sod in the same spot, let us know and we will go deeper.
Grinding removes the stump and the upper root flare. The smaller lateral roots are left in the ground, where they break down naturally over time. If a surface root is a tripping hazard or lifting a path, we can grind that down as well.
The grinding produces a pile of wood mulch. We can haul it away, or leave it on site if you want to use it in garden beds and on paths. Just tell us your preference when you book.
We use compact machines and take care with the route in and out. There will be loose grindings right around the stump, which we rake up before we go. The rest of your yard is left as we found it.
Price depends on how many stumps, their diameter, the wood type, and how easy they are to reach. That is why we quote each job rather than guess. Send the details through the form and you will get a clear number back.
We are based in the Fraser Valley and usually schedule within a few days of agreeing on a price. If your job is time sensitive, mention it and we will do our best to fit you in.
Not necessarily. As long as we have clear access to the stump and any gate codes, we can grind while you are out and let you know when it is done.
Clear toys, hoses, and loose items from around the stump, and flag any sprinkler heads, low-voltage lighting, or shallow utilities you know about so we can work around them safely.
Include the stump quantity, the diameter of each, and the tree type if you know it. A photo or two and your town help us quote faster.
Your details are on their way to us. We will be in touch soon with your free quote. For anything urgent, call or text 604-798-1380.

These Terms of Service set out the basis on which Fraser Valley Stump Grinding provides information through this website and engages with you about stump grinding and related services.
By using this website or requesting a quote, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge and that you are authorised to request work at the property in question.
Quotes are based on the details you supply and, where applicable, on a site assessment. A quote becomes a confirmed booking only once both parties have agreed on the work, the price, and a date.
You are responsible for ensuring safe and clear access to the work area, for identifying any private utilities, irrigation, lighting, or other buried services, and for removing personal items from around the stumps before we arrive.
We take care to work safely and to protect your property, but you accept that grinding involves machinery and debris and that some disturbance to the immediate area around a stump is a normal part of the process.
Unless agreed otherwise, our standard service grinds the stump and upper root flare below ground level. Removal of lateral roots, full excavation, soil, sod, or replanting are separate and only included where stated in your quote.
Payment terms will be confirmed at the time of booking. Any additional work discovered or requested on the day that falls outside the agreed scope may be subject to a revised price.
We may need to reschedule work due to weather, equipment, or safety considerations. We will give you as much notice as we reasonably can if a date needs to change.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability in connection with the services is limited to the value of the work performed, and we are not liable for pre-existing conditions or for items not disclosed to us before work began.
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and Canada. We may update them from time to time, and the version published on this website at the time of your enquiry will apply.
