Meet the Founder

Philipp Kundert

Founder, President and CEO

Philipp Kundert founded West Coast Media Solutions in Vancouver in July 2000 and has led it as President and CEO ever since. Born in Basel, Switzerland, where he lived for just over a decade, he grew up in Tsawwassen and has spent 25+ years in digital marketing and lead generation. He still works hands-on across strategy, campaigns, web design and the agency's own hosting.

His background is in performance marketing. In 2004 and 2005 he also headed marketing for a company in Pompano Beach, Florida, keeping its call centre of more than 80 staff supplied with leads every day and putting its lead quality control and fraud prevention in place. Quality has stayed at the centre of his work since: much of his time in online advertising has gone into analyzing traffic discrepancies and testing tracking and fraud detection technology.

Over the years Philipp has worked with companies of every size, from start-ups to national brands. Today he leads the agency's search, advertising, consulting and web design work, runs its network of owner-operated websites, and oversees Websites by WCMS, its monthly website plan for small businesses.

Alongside the agency he runs Kundert Consulting, an advisory practice for small and medium-sized businesses, and UltimateDomainNames.com, a premium domain marketplace. He speaks English and German.

Philipp also volunteers on the strata council of his 54-unit townhouse community, where he served six and a half years as treasurer and has now been president for ten. He keeps the community's costs per square foot very competitive while holding the quality of work to a high standard, negotiates contracts so the buildings never go without the care they need, and keeps the contingency reserve fund well invested. As treasurer, he closed every year with a surplus.
