What does an SEO engagement include?
Every engagement starts with an audit, because the right work depends on what is actually holding the site back. From there, the work falls into six areas:
- Keyword research by intent. Search volume is only the start. We look at what the searcher wants, how hard the term is to win, seasonal patterns and the long-tail phrases that convert, then map each target to the page that should rank for it.
- On-page optimization. Titles, meta descriptions, headings, body copy, image alt text and internal links, written for people first and structured so search engines understand the page.
- Technical SEO. The crawl, index and speed problems that stop good pages from ranking at all.
- Content. Service pages, location pages, guides and FAQs that answer what your customers search for, planned on an editorial calendar.
- Links and mentions. Relevant sites linking to and citing your business, earned through outreach, partnerships and content worth referencing.
- Local search. Your Google Business Profile, citations and reviews, for any business that serves customers in a defined area.
How do you handle technical SEO?
We start with a full crawl of the site and the indexing reports in Google Search Console, then work through crawlability, indexation, site architecture, page speed, mobile rendering and Core Web Vitals. Typical findings include broken links, redirect chains, duplicate and thin pages, missing canonical tags, blocked resources and structured data errors.
Most of these fixes live in the site's code, and that is where we differ from an SEO consultancy that only writes reports. We design and build websites ourselves (see our web design work), so we can make the changes directly in your site's code. We also administer our own web servers, so when a speed problem sits at the hosting level rather than the page level, we know where to look.
How does local SEO work for a Vancouver business?
Google ranks local results, on Google Maps and in the map pack on Search, mainly on three things: relevance, distance and prominence. Relevance comes from a complete, accurate Google Business Profile with the right categories and services. Prominence comes from reviews, citations and links that confirm the business is real and well regarded.
For businesses across Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, the Tri-Cities and the Fraser Valley, we optimize the Google Business Profile, make sure your name, address and phone number match on every directory that lists you, build a steady process for earning reviews, and create location or service-area pages for the communities you actually serve. The same approach works for any city in Canada or the US. More in local SEO: the work that actually moves rankings.
How do you optimize for AI search and answer engines?
Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode, ChatGPT search, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot all build answers from web pages. Google says the usual SEO best practices apply to its AI features and that no special markup is required, so we concentrate on what makes a page both rank and read well as a source: clear, direct answers near the top, headings phrased the way people ask questions, consistent business details across the web, and accurate structured data that states who you are and what you offer.
We build those into the SEO work: answer-first page structure, FAQ content, Organization, LocalBusiness and Service schema, consistent name, address and phone details across directories, and a robots.txt that lets AI crawlers read the site. No one can guarantee a place in an AI answer, any more than a ranking, but these are the fundamentals the tools draw on. More in why entity consistency matters more for AI than for Google.
Do you work on e-commerce and multi-region sites?
Yes. For online stores, we optimize category structures, product pages and faceted navigation, deal with the duplicate content that product variants create, and add Product schema so listings can show price and availability in search. Where Google Shopping is part of the picture, we review the Merchant Center feed as well.
For businesses targeting more than one country or language, we implement hreflang tags, choose between country domains, subfolders and subdomains, and structure the site so each market is shown the right version of each page.
How is SEO success measured?
Rankings are a means, not the goal. Our monthly reports track rankings for the terms that matter, organic traffic to the pages that sell, and the enquiries, calls and sales that organic search produced, using Google Search Console, your analytics and your conversion tracking.
Each report ends with what we will work on next and why. If the tracking needed to measure results is missing or broken, fixing it is part of the first month's work.
