Website Design Concept

Poets Cove Resort & Spa

A website concept for an oceanfront resort on Pender Island, built to make a weekend away feel close enough to book.

Poets Cove Resort & Spa website concept homepage

This is a design concept: a website we designed as a proposal for Poets Cove Resort & Spa. It was not commissioned, and West Coast Media Solutions is not affiliated with Poets Cove Resort & Spa.

At a Glance

Poets Cove is a resort, spa and marina in Bedwell Harbour on Pender Island. We designed a one-page website concept that leads with the place itself, then walks a guest through rooms, dining, weddings, island activities and arrival by sea, with a booking prompt never far from view.

The Brief

A resort guest is choosing a feeling before they choose a room. The concept had to sell the setting first and make booking the obvious next step.

  • Open with the harbour and the islands, not a list of amenities.
  • Show every way to stay, from lodge rooms to cottages and villas, in one place.
  • Give dining, the spa, weddings and the marina their own space without sending people away.
  • Keep a clear path to reserve a stay from the first screen to the last.

What We Designed

The page opens on a full-width photograph of the harbour with a short serif headline, Where the Pacific whispers and the soul finds rest, and two actions: reserve a stay or explore the resort. From there it moves at an unhurried pace through the resort's story, its rooms and villas, three restaurants, weddings and events, island adventures and arriving by sea.

We set the headlines in Cormorant Garamond for a quiet, editorial feel and the supporting text in Jost for clarity. A warm sand background and a muted gold for buttons keep the palette close to the setting, so the photography does the selling.

Ways to stay

Lodge rooms, cottages and villas laid out side by side, so guests can compare at a glance.

Dining and spa

Three restaurants share one dining section, each with its own description, and the spa is introduced under its own heading.

Weddings and events

A section for celebrations, framed by the sea, with its own call to action.

Arrive by sea

Marina details for guests who come by boat, presented as part of the trip rather than a footnote.

How We Achieved It

We built the concept as a single page, designed to load quickly. Each section answers one question a guest is likely to have, in the order they tend to ask it, which keeps the page easy to scan on a phone as well as a desktop.

The reservation prompt appears in the navigation, in the opening screen and again at the close of the page, so a guest who is ready to book never has to hunt for it. Special offers sit near the end, where a guest who is nearly convinced looks for a reason to say yes.
