Website Design Concept
Kahlon Flooring
Flooring presented as craft: a warm, editorial website concept for a Surrey installer of hardwood, engineered, laminate, vinyl, tile and carpet floors.
This is a design concept: a website we designed as a proposal for Kahlon Flooring. It was not commissioned, and West Coast Media Solutions is not affiliated with Kahlon Flooring.
At a Glance
Hardwood, engineered, laminate, vinyl, tile and carpet: Kahlon Flooring installs them all across the Lower Mainland and supplies the materials too. Our nine-section website concept presents flooring as craft, under the headline The art of flooring, with six services, a section on precision, a look at finished floors, a four-step process, a service area map and an estimate form that asks about both the service and the property type.

The Brief
Flooring is part trade and part interior design, and buyers judge it on both. The page had to feel considered enough for a homeowner and practical enough for a builder.
- Present flooring as a craft, with each material described by how it looks and feels.
- Cover every material, from solid hardwood to carpet, plus supplies, in one services section.
- Walk visitors through consultation, selection, installation and finishing so the process feels guided.
- Gather the service and the property type with each estimate request.
What We Designed
Fraunces, a soft and characterful serif, carries the headline The art of flooring, with Hanken Grotesk for the body. The page sits on warm cream with dark walnut text and a honey gold accent, colours that echo timber and finish. A small line above the headline, Surrey, British Columbia · 16 years of craft, grounds the page in place, and a band naming every material and service runs below the opening.
Next, an introduction headed Floors are a foundation for comfort, beauty and daily life sets the tone before six numbered services: hardwood, engineered hardwood, laminate and vinyl, tile and stone, carpet, and flooring supplies. A section headed Precision you can feel underfoot leads into a look at the floors the company lays, then the four-step process, the Lower Mainland service area and the estimate form.
Materials band
A strip under the opening names every material and service, from hardwood to renovations, in a single line.
Four-step process
Consultation, selection, installation and finishing turn a large purchase into a guided sequence, from first measure to final walkthrough.
Service area map
An embedded map supports the Lower Mainland service area, so visitors can see at a glance whether they are covered.
Two-menu estimate form
Menus for the service and the property type sit with the contact fields, so every request arrives sorted.
How We Achieved It
We used the serif and the warm palette to slow the reader down a little, which suits a purchase people live with for years. The copy does the same, pairing each material with how it looks and wears, while short numbered blocks keep the services easy to compare. Photography of finished floors carries the proof in the section on the company's work.
Because the estimate form asks for the service and the property type, a single room refresh and a full commercial fit out are told apart before anyone calls back. The form has spam protection, a skip-to-content link serves keyboard users, and the menu pairs the phone number with a free estimate button after the services, about, our work, service area and contact links.
